A private sunset catamaran cruise in Santorini is €1,200 for up to eight guests, then €100 for each guest after that. The boat is yours alone for five hours from 14:30. Swim stops, dinner cooked on board, wine and hotel transfers are all in the price.
This is the boat people take when the afternoon has a reason behind it. An anniversary, a proposal, a fiftieth birthday, or a family who would rather not share the deck with fourteen strangers.

A private boat is never cheaper per head than a shared seat, and we will not pretend otherwise. The difference buys the deck, the timing and the guest list. If the number per person is what decides it, take the semi-private sunset cruise at €100 each.
The afternoon, hour by hour
A 14:30 departure in late September. The captain reorders the stops when the wind asks him to. On a private boat he will also reorder them because you asked.
The car comes
Pickup at your hotel. The transfer is in the price in both directions.
Lines off
Shoes off on deck, bags below, two minutes on where the life jackets and the heads are. After that it is your boat.
Red Beach
Anchored under the red cliffs. The land approach has had rockfall closures for years. From the water the whole face is simply there in front of you.
White Beach
Ten minutes west, below a wall of white pumice. There is no road and no path in. You go from the swim platform at the stern.
Mesa Pigadia
A quiet cove under Akrotiri. Snorkelling gear sits in the locker by the steps. Stay in as long as you like, which is the whole argument for a private boat.
The Akrotiri light
The southern corner of the island, marked by the 1892 lighthouse the Hellenic Navy still runs. Round it and the caldera opens ahead of you.
The volcano swim
Anchored off Nea Kameni's black lava, swimming inside the flooded crater. When the sea allows, the ochre springs at Agios Nikolaos bay follow — iron-warm water that marks pale swimwear for good.
The Fira panorama
The crater opens all the way round, with Fira, Firostefani and Imerovigli stacked some 300 m above the Old Port and Skaros Rock dark under the rim.
Dinner, sailing south
The grill has been going since the swim. Chicken, shrimp, Greek salad, pasta, dolmades and the dips, and the wine comes out as the light starts to drop.
Held off the lighthouse
Engines quiet off the Akrotiri corner, where the western horizon is open sea. The sun goes down on water, and the cliffs behind you hold their colour for a good half hour afterwards.
Home in the dusk
The short run back along the coast to Vlychada, lights coming on along the rim. The car is waiting.
Every clock time above moves with the season. The order of the stops moves with the wind, and that call belongs to the captain on the morning.

Sunset here moves by nearly two hours across a season: about 20:40 on 1 July, about 19:03 on 1 October. Departure and return move with it, and the hours on your confirmation are the hours that apply.

Who takes the whole boat
Two people marking something. A proposal, an anniversary, the last evening of a honeymoon. On a shared boat that moment belongs to everyone on deck. On this one it does not.
A family with a wide age range. Grandparents who want shade and a seat, teenagers who want the trampolines forward, and a seven-year-old who gets out of the water when he says so.
A group of eight to seventeen. At twelve guests the boat works out at €133 each. That is a third more than a shared seat, and it buys the whole deck.
Anyone who wants the timing to bend. A longer stop at the volcano, dinner held back an hour, a slow half hour off the lighthouse while the light does its work.
Who should book something else
If the price per head is what decides it, take the semi-private sunset cruise. Same route, same cook, €100 each, up to 15 aboard.
If swimming matters more than the light, take the private day cruise at 09:30. Morning water is flatter and clearer, and the meltemi usually builds after midday.
If five hours is not enough water for the money, look at the ten-hour private cruise. It reaches Thirassia, and it still comes home after dark.
If someone in the group gets seasick, an afternoon in July or August is the wrong half of the day. Tell us and we will talk you into the morning instead.

Common questions
Is this cruise good for couples or celebrations?
It is the format we sell most often for both. Only your group is aboard, the crew know what the evening is for, and the timing bends around you. Two people can book it: €1,200 covers up to eight, so the price is the same whether there are two of you or eight.
Private Catamaran worth it?
Worth it when you want control of the departure, of how long you linger at each swim stop, of when you eat and of who is standing next to you. It is never cheaper per head than a shared seat. For two people on a budget, the semi-private sunset cruise sails the same water at €100 each.
Can we celebrate a special occasion onboard?
Yes, and this is the right format for it. Tell us what you are marking when you book rather than on the day, so the crew can plan the anchorage and stay out of your photographs. What we can and cannot set up on board varies, so ask us on WhatsApp first.
Can I book a private cruise?
Yes. The private sunset charter runs five hours from 14:30 at €1,200 for up to eight guests, plus €100 for each guest after that. There is a private day charter from 09:30 at the same price, and a ten-hour version at €2,400 for up to ten.
Does the 19:30 finish move through the season?
Yes. Sunset in Santorini shifts by nearly two hours between April and mid-October, and both ends of the cruise move with it. The published 14:30 to 19:30 window is a guide. Your confirmation carries the times that apply to your date, and we send those before you pay anything.
Is there music on board?
Music is normal on Santorini catamarans, and on a private charter the playlist is usually yours. We have not published the specifics of our sound system or whether you can connect your own phone to it, so please confirm that with us before you book if the playlist matters.
Do you help with photos?
The crew take photographs and video on your own phone at the moment that matters, and they are used to standing where they will not be in the frame. Whether we can arrange a professional photographer as an extra is not something we publish, so ask us on WhatsApp.
