Terms and conditions for booking with us
These terms cover booking a boat tour with us: who may book, that prices and programmes on this site can change, that the captain decides everything to do with safety and may reroute or cancel, that the boats anchor offshore rather than dock, and that departure times move through the season with the sun.
Short version: the captain runs the day, the sea decides the route, and the price we confirm in writing is the price. The rest of this page is the detail behind those three sentences.
Who may book
You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you need the authority to book for everyone in your party. If you book for other people, you are the person we deal with. You are also the person who has to pass on what you agreed, including the cancellation terms.
This website is not built for children to use on their own. Children are very welcome on the boats. Tell us their ages when you book, so the right life jackets are aboard before you arrive.
Prices and programmes can change
The prices, times, routes and cruises on this site are what we offer today. Any of them can change without notice, and we edit these pages often.
The price that binds is the one we confirm in writing for your date, not a figure cached in a search result. No payment is taken on this website. The booking form sends us an email, one of us reads it, and you get a reply. What that form does with your details is set out on the privacy page.
The captain's decisions
One person decides what the boat does on the day, and it is not the office. Here is what that means in practice, and why.
| What the captain may change | Why | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Cancel the day's sailing | The sea is not safe for the boat or for the people on it. He decides on the morning. | A full refund or another date. See the cancellation policy. |
| Change the route, or the order of the stops | Wind direction and swell decide which side of the island is workable. | The cruise still runs its hours. The stops may not be the ones printed here. |
| Drop a swimming stop | Too much movement in the bay to put people in the water safely. | Nothing is refunded for a dropped stop. The time goes somewhere else. |
| Move the departure time | The sun sets earlier or later as the season turns, and the whole schedule follows it. | The time on your confirmation is the time that applies, not the one on a product page. |
| Run your cruise on another boat | The boat you booked is not available that day. | Another boat of the same class, and we tell you before you sail. |
| Anchor off instead of going alongside | None of the swimming stops has docking infrastructure, and a boat may not approach a beach without it. | You go into the water from the boat. There is no jetty anywhere on this coast. |
| Ask you to sit down, come aboard, or stay out of the water | A moving deck, a swell, or another boat working the same bay. | The crew's instructions are not suggestions. Do it first, ask afterwards. |
Every row is a safety judgement made by the person driving the boat. None of it is a scheduling convenience, and none of it is negotiable from the deck.
What a cruise does not include
Walking on the volcano is not part of any cruise on this site. The boats anchor off Nea Kameni, they do not land you on it, and the national park fee is not in our price. If hiking the crater is the thing you came for, book a volcano boat instead of us.
Gratuities are not included and are never expected. Neither is anything you buy ashore on a day when a cruise puts you ashore.
- Walking on Nea Kameni, and the national park entrance fee that goes with it.
- Any stop with a jetty, because the swimming stops do not have one.
- Gratuities.
Links to other people's sites
We link out to a few places: a Google map, a review page, a WhatsApp thread. What sits on the other end is not ours and we do not control it, so treat those links with the judgement you would use anywhere else online.
If a link from this site leads somewhere it should not, tell us at info@santoriniboattour.com and we will take it down.
What on this site is ours
The words, the tables, the itineraries and the caldera map on this site are ours. Screenshot a page for your own trip, quote a paragraph with a link back, send a table to the person you are travelling with. All fine.
Copying pages wholesale onto another operator's site is a different matter, and we do notice. If you want to use something here properly, ask at info@santoriniboattour.com first.
If something is wrong, say so on the day
The crew can fix almost anything while you are still on the boat and almost nothing after you are off it. If the food, the seat, the timing or the route is not what you booked, tell the crew, or message +30 698 977 1888 that day.
A message on the day is a problem we can solve. A review three weeks later is only a scar.
Anything here you want in writing first?
Ask before you book, not after. We would rather spend ten minutes on a question than have you on the wrong boat.

Common questions
How safe is it on board?
The captain's authority to cancel or reroute for weather is the main safety measure on any Santorini boat, and it is not negotiable. Safety equipment is carried and the crew brief you before departure. Our licence and insurance details are not published here, so ask for them in writing before you book if you need them.
Why does the boat anchor offshore instead of pulling up to the beach?
Because none of the swimming stops has docking infrastructure, and a boat is not allowed to approach a beach without it. Red Beach, White Beach and Mesa Pigadia have no jetty at all. We anchor off and you go in from the swim platform at the stern of the boat.
Can the departure time change after I book?
It moves with the season, because sunset does. A sunset cruise in June ends far later than the same cruise in late September, and the morning cruise shifts with it. The time written on your confirmation is the one that applies to your date, not the time on a page you read months earlier.
Who is allowed to make a booking?
Anyone old enough to enter a contract where they live, booking for themselves or for a party they have the authority to book for. If you book for a group, you are our point of contact, and you are responsible for passing on what you agreed, the cancellation terms included.
